He has a unique perspective on ministering downtown as he walks the razors edge of showing compassion to the homeless and compassion to the business owner. Be sure to head over to his blog to catch his unique perspective and the charged conversation going on in his ‘Comments‘ section.
Editor Brad Evans recently started “a series on homelessness, vagrants, and downtown commerce.” He does a great job of introducing the complex layers of this systemic issue. Brad writes as a reporter and as a downtown business owner so it is well worth the read. Check it out!
I recently read a blog post at Pastor Keith Watson’s blog touching on the topic of the homeless vs. the business owner. While the post was a simple question that he had posed during a meeting – the comments to his question are thought provoking and insightful. I’m sure we will be hearing more from Pastor Keith and his blog readers on this issue.
City Watch was highlighted during National Night Out news coverage as we partner with Crime Stoppers to begin cleaning up the graffiti on our downtown buildings. We had a great event with over 125 people coming out to the top deck of the parking garage. We are looking forward to next years event and partnering with businesses or other community minded organizations.
